Communicate with my TA

These are several emails sent to and fro my ME lab TA. Question, answer, question, answer. Effective!

Hi, XX
About the lab assignment #3, should I convert all the units into millimeter for all the parts I created (including those in textbook exercise and the modeling a styrofoam cup) or just the styrofoam cup part?
Best,
Muyun

 Hey Muyun,
The units of all your part files should be millimeter.
XX

XX,
Ok... Is it millimeter kilogram second or millimeter newton second?
Muyun

It's millimeter Newton Second.

  1. In the conversation above, I know that you must email your ME lab TA frequently. You ask your TA about a common question appears in the lab. Though it is not an significant problem you will have in the lab, I can see that you are very rigorous person. Actually, detail is the key of success. If we pay full attention to each detail and make them perfect, the lab or project will be a great success.

  2. Hi Muyun,

Nice work! Just like the above comment demonstrates, the question you asked your TA is a specific and detailed one, which shows that you are a attentive guy. Therefrore, pay attention to the details is a crucial skill toward success.

To be honest, if I am in the situation like yours, I will probably ask help from my friends or just work it out by myself. In addition, in my emails with TAs or professors, I usually ask them some questions that are broader. Therefore, both detailed and comprehensive questions are indispensable in our life.

    Have a nice weekend!

  3. it seems you are really familiar with your TA , so that you can ask those common questions. however, if i were you , i'd rather call my friends and do it with him . firstly, you got more chance to communicate with your classmates so that you could observe problems from other people's perspective. and email you TA asking this sort of problem seems to be a little time wasting, do you think so ?
